I’m Dominique Fougère, a multi-disciplinary creative person, who has been making visual things for people and for myself for a very long time. I strive to maintain a balanced creative output in the digital and analog realms.
For design work, I’ve worked for the last 14 years in both agency and start-up environments on 80+ projects for over 40 clients that span industries such as healthcare, finance, marketing, and gaming. Recently, I worked at Attentive, where I co-managed the design system and reporting products with a stellar cross-functional team.
For analog work, art is integral to myself. I graduated cum laude from Cal Poly Humboldt, with a B.A., Studio Arts in 2008. I’ve happily created many graphic designs over the years- coloring books, zines, packaging specs, custom illustrations, branding + identity kits, presentation decks, tattoo line-work, etc.- but my ride-or-die artistic loves are collage and ceramics.
Currently, I’m investigating the ethics, practicalities, and other unknowns about this new, emerging era of generative technology within digital design and pursuing a master technician’s training in ceramics and studio practices.

True things paid for spoken by my comrades about me.
“Dom makes design decisions rooted in user needs while keeping business goals and engineering constraints in mind. She builds for the long term, not just the moment. She’s thoughtful in how she balances short-term feasibility with long-term clarity, often raising the right questions about what will truly serve the customer while aligning with our roadmap and platform priorities. Her work strengthens the product, improves the team, and empowers the users.”
— Nat Wongsavit, Staff Software Engineer, Attentive
“Dom Fougere and Don Le have provided an exemplary model for customer-focused, cross-disciplinary effort to improve our products to make them more effective and more desirable for our customers. They have done excellent work of setting an iterative cycle of research to gather user needs -> using the data gathered to inform design -> prototyping, testing, and refining the designs with users -> working closely with Eng to implement their work -> getting positive feedback from customers on the designs they implemented -> ...and then returning to find the next area where users' need improvements. Their ability to drive improvements in our existing products while also figuring out the best approaches for reporting on our newly developed products is a great model for all of Attentive.”
— Scott Goeke, Lead User Experience Researcher, Attentive
“Who's always on the lookout, making sure there are no barriers to accessibility in our design system and data visualizations? Dom is! In the past couple of weeks, Dom has coordinated efforts to help make our reporting tools even more accessible by researching colors and interaction patterns that can help everyone get the most out of our data visualizations. Thank you for always being an advocate for accessibility at Attentive!”
— Kevin Kalahiki, Accessibility Program Director, Attentive
"Dom leads our Picnic design meetings and manages to pull a ragtag crew of individuals into meaningful conversations every week that result in a better product than we had 30 minutes before we started."
— Tony Molinero, Principal Product Designer, Attentive
“Dom is a strong leader for our Picnic design system. She runs two meetings, including our design-focused "Picnic Party" on Fridays and our "Picnic Steering" meeting where design collaborates with engineering. Dom has continued to guide our design system, adding new components, icons and documentation that help design and engineering work more seamlessly together.”
— Alex Statom, Design Director, Attentive
“Shoutout to Dom for championing the customer and defaulting to action! She has been absolutely critical to recent launches in EIR, including the redesigned analytics dashboard and self-serve attribution.
In just my first two months in EIR, I’ve been deeply impressed by how detail-oriented she is. I can always count on her to catch edge cases that slip past me. Dom also works at lightning speed. When a UI nuance came up on currency conversions, she came back the very next day with thoughtful options already mapped out.
She takes excellent notes and brings strong product sense to every discussion. I rely on her as a partner on client feedback calls. I feel very lucky to work with her.”
— Kristen Fang, Product Manager, Attentive
“Everything she touches is elevated because of her input, her design thinking, and her design skill and she has a knack for making things better.
She is efficient, organized, detail-oriented, clever and I call her the QUEEN of the joy delivery system. Even if we are talking about something as simple as the PDI schedule or if it is indeed something more detailed like outlining a brainstorming session for one of the steps in the design thinking process, Dom puts together the most "joyful" deliverables. There is always an element of joy with her whether that be her meticulous design files or her silly remarks that always have me chuckling.
She has a sense of magic about her that really makes my experience working with her so fun and so elevated. She takes on things to ensure their precision and accuracy and to uphold the high design standard that is anticipated and expected of our team.”
— Lauren Sherby, Design Manager, Attentive
